Job Role
We are looking for Lead Delphi / Object Pascal Developer to help modernize and maintain mature, mission-critical Windows desktop products. The tasks include upgrading a large Delphi 5 / Win32 codebase to the latest Delphi version (Delphi 11), including Unicode and 64-bit (Win64) migration, while ensuring functional stability. Moden AI tooling will be used to accelerate this project, hence would be an opportunity for gaining expertise in AI-Assisted development as well.
Principal Responsibilities And Duties
- Analyze and understand legacy code using a combination of human intelligence and AI tools.
- Help to modernize existing code to improve reliability, maintainability and long-term health of the product.
- Analyze and refactor all aspects of the code to ensure long term sustainability.
- Design, implementation, and rollout of AI driven test frameworks for legacy code.
- Build re-usable methodologies to handle similar situations across the product portfolio.
- Take ownership of operational excellence, including performance tuning, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct technical deep-dives, code reviews and foster a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Have 8 to 10 years of experience working complex Desktop software built using Delphi technology.
- Hands-on experience with older Delphi versions (Delphi 5/6/7)
- Experience with modern Delphi (XE/10.x/11), experience with Unicode migration
- Deep understanding of VCL
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for optimizing complex workflows
- Proven ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and manage delivery timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Have experience, or an eagerness to learn, AI-assisted development to speed up refactoring, code comprehension, and performance enhancements.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering or other relevant subjects, or have the equivalent in relevant work experience.
