As a Lead Software Engineer (Operational Excellence), you will play a pivotal role in driving engineering standards, enabling scalable product delivery, and ensuring seamless experiences for our customers, partners, and internal users worldwide.

You will work across diverse technologies and teams, helping shape our next generation of platforms, tools, and practices that power Maersk’s digital ecosystem.

Experience

14+ years in Software Engineering and Product Development with a focus on:

• Lead discovery and design phases, translating business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Define and uphold engineering standards and best practices in alignment with enterprise architecture guidelines.
• Design, build, and integrate complex information systems to meet business requirements.
• Ensure product architecture is optimized for scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate across functions to deliver outcomes that advance business goals and customer experience.
• Champion modern engineering practices — CI/CD, automation, and cloud-native development — to accelerate product delivery.
• Partner with architects and stakeholders to define architecture roadmaps and drive key technology initiatives.
• Oversee implementation of SDLC methodologies and tools to support continuous improvement.
• Provide technical leadership across teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
• Manage project budgets, forecast resource needs, and drive operational efficiency.
  
  

• Build the future tech stack that runs Maersk's Ecommerce Business
• Design and deliver integration solutions connecting diverse systems, applications, and data sources.
• Develop APIs, middleware, and integration frameworks ensuring security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Define and evolve integration architecture.
• Ensure best practices in Infrastructure Architecture, CI/CD, Deployment Automation, and Security.
• Collaborate with domain architects to ensure consistency and alignment across platforms.
  
  

• Worked in large tech environments that are scale driven. E-commerce tech experience is preferred, but not required
• Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale, high-performance integration solutions in hybrid (on-prem + cloud) environments.
• Strong background in EDI management, API design, and microservices-based architectures.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and containerized workloads.
• Adept at translating business objectives into technical strategies and measurable outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills — able to simplify complex ideas for diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving ability, and bias for action.
• Recognized as a technical thought leader with credibility across engineering and business teams.
