We are looking for a Lead Software Test Engineer – Automation

You’ll make a difference by:

• Primary Languages: C++ (SIL-side harnesses/simulators) + Python (automation framework, NMS/tooling, reporting)
• Component Focus (you may work across): Automation framework & infrastructure supporting all components; harnesses for SIL-side, tooling for NMS/evidence
• Role Summary
• You will design, extend, and maintain automation frameworks and execution infrastructure to enable repeatable testing, regression, and evidence generation across the Kavach Wayside scope.
• You’ll make an impact by
• Develop and maintain automation framework libraries, runners, and reporting/evidence capture
• Build/extend C++ harnesses/simulators for SIL-relevant environments where applicable
• Build Python automation for non-SIL subsystems (e.g., NMS), orchestration, log parsing, and tooling
• Enable regression execution and improve suite reliability (reduce flakiness; triage automation vs product issues)
• Partner with test engineers to convert specifications into maintainable automated tests
• Your success is grounded in
• Strong C++ and Python programming for test automation
• Experience designing maintainable automation frameworks (modularity, reuse, test data/config management)
• Debugging expertise across OS/app/protocol logs; ability to pinpoint failure sources
• CI-friendly execution mindset and artifact generation (reports, logs, evidence bundles)
• You’ll benefit from
• Familiarity with OS abstraction/device communication frameworks
• Exposure to tool validation/qualification concepts used in safety projects
• Experience automating integration/regression in complex products (railway/telecom/industrial)
• Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Computer Science (or equivalent)

• Evidence-driven mindset suitable for safety-critical and audit-ready environments
• Strong problem solving with structured debugging and clear written communication
• Collaboration across development, lab/simulator owners, and configuration/test management stakeholders
