About The Team And The Role
The PVL - Structural and Vehicle Attributes Testing team at Ather is responsible for ensuring the structural integrity and superior vehicle performance characteristics of our intelligent scooters through rigorous evaluation and validation processes.
This role is for a Test Engineer - Vehicle Dynamics who will focus on evaluating and optimizing vehicle handling, comfort, and braking systems to ensure our products meet world-class performance standards.
Responsibilities
- Execute objective testing for vehicle handling, comfort, ergonomics, and braking functions.
- Manage advanced vehicle features and ensure performance alignment with predefined targets.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Design teams to develop and refine technical solutions based on test results.
- Perform benchmarking of reference vehicles to establish and maintain competitive vehicle dynamics standards.
- Identify, record, and highlight failures through comprehensive and timely technical reports.
- Generate high-quality test documentation containing relevant data and insights for product improvement.
- Ensure the end product consistently meets all performance targets for Vehicle Dynamics.
- Maintain rigorous testing schedules to ensure on-time delivery of performance reports.
- B.E/B.tech in mechanical/automotive engineering
- 4-5 years of experience with Vehicle Dynamics testing and strong theoretical knowledge of basic automotive theories.
Must Have Competencies
- Execute data acquisition using systems such as 2D DataRecording, INFLUX, and V-Box.
- Apply principles of Vehicle Dynamics and Dynamics of Machinery to evaluate vehicle performance.
- Conduct technical assessments of suspension systems and braking mechanisms.
- Perform objective vehicle testing and performance benchmarking against industry standards.
Good to Have Competencies
- Conduct comprehensive ergonomics evaluations for two-wheeler platforms.
- Utilize advanced data recording tools for specialized vehicle attribute analysis.
- Apply theoretical mechanical engineering principles to solve complex vehicle dynamics issues.
- Translate raw test data into technical insights for system-level design improvements.
