What You Can Expect
The Network Architect is the enterprise authority for network architecture and design, responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the organization’s network strategy across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. Operating at a manager-equivalent level without direct reports, this role owns network design standards, leads complex initiatives, and provides architectural oversight to ensure scalability, security, resiliency, and performance aligned with business objectives.The role partners closely with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, Application, and Vendor teams to deliver modern, secure, and cost-effective network solutions.

How You'll Create Impact
Network Architecture & Strategy
- Define and maintain enterprise network architecture, principles, and reference designs
- Own network standards for LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, internet edge, and cloud networking
- Develop multi-year network roadmaps aligned to business growth, cloud adoption, and security strategy
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend architectural improvements
- Lead architecture and detailed design for complex initiatives (e.g., data center modernization, cloud connectivity, M&A integration)
- Review and approve network designs produced by internal teams and partners
- Serve as the final technical escalation point for complex network issues and design decisions
- Architect hybrid connectivity between on-prem environments and public cloud platforms
- Design resilient connectivity patterns including ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, VPN, and internet-based architectures
- Ensure consistent network security and performance across regions and environments
- Partner with Security Architecture on Zero Trust, segmentation, and secure access models
- Design for high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and fault tolerance
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security, regulatory, and audit requirements
- Act as network architecture advisor to senior IT and business leaders
- Influence cross-functional teams through architectural governance and standards
- Support vendor selection, RFPs, and contract evaluations from an architectural perspective
- Final Escalation point for failures – for the big problems
- Mentoring the junior engineers

Your Background
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10–15 years of progressive experience in enterprise networking
- 5+ years in a network architecture or principal engineering role
- Extensive experience designing and supporting large-scale, global networks
- Demonstrated experience influencing strategy and design at a manager or senior leadership level
- 12+ years total networking experience
- Experience supporting global enterprises or regulated industries
- Cloud networking certifications (e.g., AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer)
- Vendor certifications (e.g., CCNP/CCIE, equivalent)
- Experience with network automation and infrastructure as code
- Enterprise-level architectural thinking
- Strong technical judgment and decision-making
- Ability to influence without formal authority
- Executive-level communication and documentation skills
- Accountability for scalability, resiliency, and security outcomes
