Network Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Network Engineer to provide on-call technical support for setting up, configuring, and virtually maintaining physical server machines and Azure virtual environments. This is not a full-time role and will be activated on an as-needed basis, especially during system upgrades, server installations, or troubleshooting events.

The ideal candidate is someone with a strong technical background in server infrastructure, cloud platforms (especially Microsoft Azure), and network configuration, who can jump in quickly to resolve issues and implement solutions with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:Server & Network Setup:

• Install, configure, and maintain physical server machines (Windows/Linux-based).
• Assist in network setup, including routers, firewalls, switches, and VPN configuration.
• Implement best practices for server security, patch management, and access control.
• Conduct routine server diagnostics and performance monitoring during service windows.

Azure VM Management:

• Set up and configure Azure virtual machines (VMs), storage accounts, and network security groups.
• Manage Azure Active Directory, backups, and virtual networking components.
• Monitor performance, manage scaling, and troubleshoot VM or connectivity issues.
• Assist with Azure cost optimization and resource governance.

Support & Documentation:

• Provide on-call support for server or network incidents as needed.
• Document configurations, access protocols, and change logs.
• Advise on infrastructure scalability, backup solutions, and business continuity planning.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Network or Systems Engineer.
• Proficient in setting up and managing Windows and/or Linux servers.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including VMs, Virtual Networks, and Azure AD.
• Strong understanding of IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Ability to work independently and resolve critical issues quickly and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or higher.
• Experience with hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud).
• Familiarity with remote monitoring tools and RMM platforms.
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.).

Role Type and Expectations:

• Not a full-time position. Work is on a per-need or project basis.
• Expected response time: Within [24 hours] of being contacted for support.
• Must be available for occasional emergency after-hours support or scheduled maintenance windows.
• Remote work supported; physical access required only in rare cases (if applicable).

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: ₹150.00 - ₹200.00 per hour
