Network Engineer

Overview

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, manage, and support enterprise network infrastructure.
• Monitor network devices, servers (physical & virtual), and cloud environments to ensure high availability and performance.
• Perform proactive troubleshooting to reduce downtime and resolve network issues efficiently.
• Configure and manage routing & switching technologies including VLANs, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, STP/RSTP, and EtherChannel.
• Implement and manage High Availability protocols such as HSRP and VRRP.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot VPN technologies including IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, DMVPN, and GRE tunnels.
• Deploy and manage FortiGate firewalls, including NAT, security policies, and IDS/IPS configurations.
• Monitor and manage ISP connectivity to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Manage cloud-based and on-premises networking environments (Meraki, ESXi, Hyper-V).
• Use monitoring and ticketing tools to track incidents, alerts, and service requests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth network operations and service delivery.
• Assist in network optimization, documentation, and security best practices.

Required Skills / Qualifications

• 6 to 10 years of experience in enterprise network operations or support.
• Hands-on experience with software-defined wide area network and dynamic wide area network technologies.
• Strong experience working with switches and routers in enterprise environments.
• Good understanding of routing, switching, and network communication protocols.
• Hands-on experience with load balancers and traffic management.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve network issues.
• Experience using network monitoring and alerting tools.
• Familiarity with internet service provider connectivity and enterprise network operations.
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
