Overview
Job Role: Level 2 Network Engineer (Operations Team)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Advanced Network Monitoring and Optimization:
Oversee network performance, ensuring uptime and optimal configurations across Cisco Meraki, FortiGate, Cisco, any public cloud net ops, Cisco ISE and SD-WAN environments.
Manage Cisco ACI and Cisco Nexus environments, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
Identify, analyze, and resolve network performance bottlenecks and recommend enhancements.
Monitor and maintain network health, proactively identifying and resolving issues related to ACI, Nexus switches, and routing.
2. Complex Troubleshooting and Incident Resolution:
Act as the escalation point for Level 1 engineers, resolving advanced incidents related to firewalls, DNS, Zscaler, SD-WAN, and load balancers (NetScaler/F5).
Diagnose and resolve network-related application issues, including advanced routing, S2S VPNs, and traffic shaping problems.
Configure and troubleshoot BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) and OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) routing protocols within the network infrastructure.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and provide actionable recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control, device authentication, and security policy enforcement across the network.
3. Network Configuration and Implementation:
Design and implement advanced configurations for firewalls, load balancers, SD-WAN, and Zscaler to meet business needs.
Manage and maintain DNS records, including advanced configurations like load balancing, failover, and CDN integrations.
Assist in planning and executing network upgrades, migrations, and deployments for multi-site environments.
Ensure high availability and redundancy of network components, including ACI fabric, Nexus switches, and routing protocols.
4. Security and Compliance:
Implement and manage complex firewall rules, VPNs.
Ensure compliance with security standards, conducting regular audits and vulnerability assessments on network devices.
Support Zscaler policy configuration and integration with other network security tools.
5. Collaboration and Mentorship:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement network changes with minimal disruption.
Mentor Level 1 engineers by providing training, guidance, and support to improve team skill levels.
Liaise with vendors for escalated support, product updates, and feature enablement.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for network infrastructure, configurations, and processes.
Generate in-depth reports on network performance, incident resolution, and system health for stakeholders.
Maintain updated diagrams and records of network topology and architecture.
7. Strategic Contributions:
Participate in network architecture design discussions, providing insights and recommendations.
Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and processes to improve operational efficiency.
Lead small-scale projects involving network optimization, hardware refreshes, or policy implementations.
8. Disaster Recovery and Backup:
Manage backup and restoration processes for firewalls, DNS servers, load balancers, and SD-WAN devices.
Play a key role in disaster recovery planning and execution, ensuring rapid restoration of services.

Technical Expertise:
In-depth experience with Cisco Meraki, FortiGate or CheckPoint or Cisco firewall.
Strong expertise in Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) and Cisco Nexus series switches.
Proficiency in SD-WAN technologies, including advanced routing and policy configurations.
Hands-on experience with Zscaler deployment and advanced policy management.
Advanced knowledge of load balancers like NetScaler and F5, including traffic steering and SSL offloading.
In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control and security policy enforcement.
Tools and Platforms:
Proficiency with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark)
Familiarity with firewall management systems (e.g., FortiManager, Cisco FMC, ASDM) and SD-WAN controllers.
Certifications (Preferred):
CCNP, Fortinet NSE 5 or above, Zscaler ZCE, or equivalent.
NetScaler certifications are an added advantage.
