Network Engineer (LAN Support)

Overview

We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure at the Naval Pay Office. The engineer will ensure high network availability, monitor performance, and support LAN/WAN operations while coordinating with the IT team for network optimization and security.

Tasks

• Maintain uninterrupted network connectivity and troubleshoot day-to-day network issues.


• Perform preventive maintenance of network cables, switches, and related components.


• Design and deploy LAN, WAN, intranet, and network segments.


• Monitor network performance, availability, throughput, and latency.


• Resolve issues in coordination with the Command IT team and Internet Service Providers.


• Analyze network infrastructure and provide weekly reports for performance improvement.


• Implement and monitor network security measures including authentication and disaster recovery.


• Maintain documentation of network architecture and configurations.


• Configure, support, maintain, and upgrade the organization's network systems.


• Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and password policies.


• Provide network support for different operating systems.


• Assist in network topology planning and documentation using MS Visio.


• Troubleshoot issues reported by end users and communicate resolution status.

Requirements

• Professional Certification: CCNP or CCSP (mandatory).


• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.


• Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS and HP network operating systems.


• Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, WhatsUp Gold, and MRTG.


• Understanding of network security and access control models.


• Experience troubleshooting Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW) and encryptors.


• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.


• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.


• Good communication and documentation skills.


• Minimum 1 year of experience managing complex enterprise networks.


• Candidate must be based near the Naval Pay Office, Mumbai location.
