Network Security Engineer – Firewalls, VPN, Load Balancers & Automation

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer to manage and enhance our security infrastructure. The role involves installation and configuration of next-generation firewalls, VPN setup, load balancer configuration, incident response, and automation of security processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Palo Alto, CheckPoint, and F5 technologies, along with strong troubleshooting and scripting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Firewall Management
• Install, configure, and maintain next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto, CheckPoint).
• Establish and manage site-to-site VPNs with external partners.
• Perform in-depth firewall troubleshooting and log analysis.
• Load Balancer Configuration
• Configure and manage F5 load balancers (LTM, GTM, AFM modules).
• Analyze and resolve load balancer issues impacting application availability and performance.
• Security Incident Support
• Assist in security incident investigations, root cause analysis, and remediation.
• Provide cross-technology support for complex network security issues.
• Operational Handover
• Document and transfer completed configurations to 24/7 operations teams.
• Ensure proper knowledge transfer and operational readiness.
• Process Improvement & Automation
• Contribute to the development of internal processes and tools for security operations.
• Design and implement automation solutions and scripts (Python, PowerShell, Bash) to streamline security workflows and reduce manual effort.
  

• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto and CheckPoint firewalls (installation, configuration, troubleshooting).
• Strong knowledge of VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL) and secure partner connectivity.
• Expertise in F5 load balancers (LTM, GTM, AFM) configuration and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS) and security principles.
• Experience in security incident handling and cross-technology troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python preferred; PowerShell/Bash a plus).
• Familiarity with change management and operational handover processes.
  
  

• Vendor certifications: Palo Alto PCNSE, CheckPoint CCSA/CCSE, F5 Certified Technology Specialist.
• Experience with automation frameworks and API integration for network/security devices.
• Knowledge of SIEM tools, log analysis, and security compliance standards.
