Context & Role

PNB MetLife has a very strong in-house Data Science and Analytics team which uses all kinds of advance analytics / data science, AI - machine learning, deep learning, GenAI, data visualization / self-service analytics, data mining and deep dive data insights & analysis techniques to work on many business problems. Team closely works with senior stakeholders and management team to solve business problems and help them achieve business objectives.

We are looking for an experienced Business / Data Insights analyst preferring from Insurance / BFSI domain, or Consulting Group catering to Insurance clients, who might be currently working in Analytics or Strategy domain within their organization. The person will work as an autonomous person, with a drive for results and agility. The person will collaborate with a nimble and cross-functional team to solve real business problems and meet real customer needs.

The person will get a chance to work on cutting-edge technologies and frameworks to analyse data and collaborate with the data science team to solve business problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Present actionable business insights / analysis findings in power-point presentations or dashboards or in any NextGen BI tool to business stakeholders
• Provide consulting and work with internal stakeholders (e.g., Distribution, Operations, Marketing, Actuarial, Finance, and Product- ?'s departments) to generate sharper business insights leading to actionable recommendations.
• Person should either know life insurance challenges or quickly understand the business to be able to deep dive into business problems and solve them using data analysis
• Work with business teams to understand the business problem and KPIs impacted
• Should be able to mine data from multiple databases, and knows programming to summarize or aggregate data, create integrated views that can be used to drive decision making
• Understand the data sources and design appropriate derivation logics from sourcing data. Work with several large and complex data that is mined through SQL Server/Oracle/No SQL/Hadoop Clusters/ Python etc.
• Develop and test Python codes and QlikSense scripts to import data from source systems / database
• In case of using BI tool like QlikSense, design wireframes and iterate the wireframes till they are frozen
• Develop and test QlikSense dashboards or codes written in Python or SQL scripts to meet requirements
• Knowledge and usage of basic statistical techniques like hypothesis testing, statistical functions like correlation, regression, Anova, Chi-square test, T-Test etc. will be an added advantage

• Bachelor's or Post-graduate's degree in a quantitative field; Masters, MCA or MBA preferred
  
  

• Proven track record to solve complex business problems using business insights and/or data analysis
• 5 - 8 yrs. of experience in the field of data and BI, ideally in the BFSI industry (Insurance, Banking, Telecom) or Service/Consultancy group catering to Insurance clients. Prior Insurance domain knowledge or work in Insurance Analytics would be an added advantage
• Should be a strong business insights or deep dive data insights analyst
• Hands-on experience in advanced SQL, query optimization and Python programming.
• Understanding data models like Star Schema, Snowflake schema etc.
• Hands-on experience in visualization tools, preferably QlikSense
• Should possess strong communication, verbal presentation, creating power-point presentation, business articulation and independent project management skills
• Should know how to use latest GenAI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini etc.
• Should be working with senior business stakeholders & functional teams to build, test & validate various hypotheses, and build actionable insights. Should be able to independently present to senior stakeholders
• Need to be strong in quantitative analysis & coding
• Should be well versed with Python & SQL skills. Should have worked on Operational Data Store / Data Warehouse. Should have worked on RDBMS database tools like Oracle, Teradata etc.
• Experience in Cloud technologies like Azure, AWS etc. will be preferred
• MS Office Excel / Access / PowerPoint / Office is must
  
  

• Technical Skills :
• Strong working knowledge of Python and SQL. SQL expertise and data pre-processing in Python or other languages
• Strong working knowledge of visualization tools like QlikSense / Tableau / Power BI
• Basic concepts of statistical should be clear
• Working knowledge of Big Data technologies like Azure, AWS, Hadoop etc. would be preferred
• Dealing with varieties of data - knowledge of data models in Oracle/SQL Server would act as a strong plus point
• Conceptual understanding of data science techniques
