Job Title: PostgreSQL Database Engineer

Location: New Delhi (Onsite/Hybrid – as per company policy)

Experience Required: 2–4 Years

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated PostgreSQL Database Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL databases in production environments. You will play a critical role in maintaining, optimizing, and securing our data infrastructure to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL databases across development and production environments.
• Write complex and efficient SQL and PL/pgSQL queries, functions, and procedures.
• Perform query optimization and performance tuning using tools like EXPLAIN, ANALYZE, and indexing strategies.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance and reliability issues.
• Design and implement backup and restore strategies; perform regular backups and test restores to ensure data integrity.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery practices are in place.
• Implement data security and access controls in compliance with organizational policies.
• Work closely with application developers and DevOps teams to support data-intensive features.
• Document database processes and maintain data dictionaries and schema documentation.

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL database administration.
• Proficient in SQL and PL/pgSQL scripting.
• Experience in performance tuning and query optimization.
• Solid understanding of indexing, partitioning, and VACUUM/ANALYZE operations.
• Experience with database backup/restore strategies, tools, and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of database monitoring tools and techniques.
• Familiarity with Linux-based environments (preferred, not mandatory).

Good to Have:

• Experience with high-availability PostgreSQL setups (e.g., streaming replication, failover).
• Understanding of schema design principles and normalization.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS RDS, Azure PostgreSQL, or similar).
• Knowledge of scripting languages like Bash or Python for automation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant work experience in PostgreSQL administration and engineering.

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
