Principal Network Engineer - London Stock Exchange Group

Overview

Senior Network Engineer - The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of hands-on experience in crafting, implementing, and managing sophisticated network environments. This role demands deep expertise in Routing & Switching, Wireless Networking, SD-WAN, Cisco Catalyst platforms, FortiGate Firewalls, DMVPN.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build, deploy, and maintain Enterprise Office Network infrastructure across multiple sites.
• Configure and fix Cisco Catalyst and Juniper EX platforms routing and switching platforms.
• Build, Implement and Manage / optimize wireless networks, including Cisco WLCs and APs.
• Implement and manage SD-WAN solutions.
• Coordinate and secure FortiGate / Juniper SRX Firewalls including policy creation, VPN setup, and threat management.
• Build and support DMVPN topologies and S2S VPN for secure site-to-site connectivity.
• Perform network performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive monitoring.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to support business continuity and disaster recovery.
• Document network builds, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Participate in oncall rotation and provide Tier 3 support for intensified issues.
  
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability in enterprise networking.
• Expert-level knowledge of Routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) and Switching technologies (STP, VLANs, EtherChannel).
• Solid experience with Cisco Catalyst and Juniper networking platforms.
• Understanding of Zscaler solutions (ZPA / ZIA)
• Good understanding of DNS/DHCP/IPAM.
• Hands-on experience with FortiGate Firewalls and Juniper SRX Firewalls.
• Proven expertise in DMVPN configuration and fix.
• Good understanding of WAN architecture and technologies.
• Solid grasp of SD-WAN architectures and deployment strategies.
• Experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) and Access Points.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and Telemetry (SNMP, NetFlow etc).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and documentation abilities.
