Principal QA Engineer – 5G/Wi-Fi

The Principal QA Engineer for Wi-Fi at Aryaka Networks is responsible for leading the design, development, and execution of advanced testing solutions for enterprise WiFi and switching products. This role requires a deep understanding of Wi-Fi/networking technology, software testing, and automation, with a focus on ensuring quality and reliability in large-scale network deployments.

You will have -

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar.
• 10-15 years of experience as tester.
  
  

You will definitely possess these skills –

• Deep understanding of Wi-Fi standards (802.11x), 5G technologies (NR, LTE), and related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP).
• Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi Encryption Protocols WEP, WPA, WPA2, WPA3 .
• Good understanding of wifi-6 and wifi-7.
• Strong knowledge of signaling procedures, and architecture
• Knowledge of 5G core network architecture, edge computing, and their implications for network performance and latency
• Hands-on experience with wireless communication test equipment (e.g., spectrum analysers, signal generators, oscilloscopes).
• Proficient in test automation tools and scripting (Python, Bash, or other automation frameworks).
• Familiarity with testing network performance, including throughput, latency, packet loss, jitter, etc.
• Experience with Wi-Fi/5G network setup, including routers, access points, and test stations.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities within a team environment.

• Certifications in software testing or Wi-Fi technologies (e.g., CWNA, CWNP).
• Experience with cloud-based Wi-Fi management and AI-related innovations in network management.
• Knowledge of RRM strategies for optimizing wireless performance and network simulation tools.
  
  

Bird’s eye view of your role –

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for Wi-Fi solutions and 5G, including functional, performance, and regression tests.
• Conduct manual and automated testing of Wi-Fi hardware and 5G, firmware, and software systems, identifying defects, tracking issues, and ensuring they are resolved.
• Perform tests based on the latest Wi-Fi protocols and 5G standards, ensuring full compliance with industry benchmarks.
• Test the network performance (throughput, latency, reliability) under different conditions, including varying network load and environmental factors.
  
  

Automation

• Build and maintain automated test scripts using relevant tools (e.g., Python or other automation tools).
• Work with development teams to identify, document, and verify bug fixes, focusing on wireless connectivity issues, data throughput, and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing practices, processes, and tools.
