About the job:

We are looking for a skilled backend developer (Python and FastAPI) to join our team. If you have strong experience with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and API development, and you enjoy building clean and reliable backend systems, this role is a great fit for you.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Build and maintain clean, secure REST APIs in FastAPI using async/await and Pydantic.
2. Design & optimise PostgreSQL (schemas, indexes, views, constraints) and write efficient SQL.
3. Build and manage PostgreSQL triggers/functions for product logic (auto bill generation, counters, expiry updates, etc.).
4. Implement models and database migrations using SQLAlchemy + Alembic; keep Swagger/OpenAPI updated.
5. Own basic CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar) to run tests and deploy safely.
6. Enforce security & reliability: JWT/OAuth2, CORS, request validation, error handling, and rate limits.
7. Write unit and integration tests using pytest and verify API contracts via Postman/Insomnia.
8. Collaborate closely with React/React Native teams on API design, debugging, and reviews.
9. Work with deployments on Render/Railway/AWS, including environment variables and migrations.
10. Troubleshoot production issues using logs and basic metrics; optimise slow APIs or SQL queries.
11. Follow clean code principles - type hints, modular services, reusable components, linting.
12. Communicate progress clearly in a remote setup with daily/regular updates.

Other Requirements:

1. Computer science/IT graduate (or strong CS fundamentals if non-CS).

3. Good communication in English + Hindi.

1. Docker & container-based development.

2. Redis caching + background tasks (FastAPI BackgroundTasks/Celery/RQ).

3. Observability stack (structured logging, Sentry, Prometheus/Grafana).

4. Performance profiling & optimisation.

5. Writing internal tools, scripts, and utilities.
