We are looking for a hands-on, experienced java and ideally python developer to:

• design and develop Kafka and big data applications
• collaborate with data scientists to engineer cutting edge “Proof of Concept” applications into stable and resilient corporate software and deploying it to state-of-the-art infrastructure
• actively support the cloud journey by implementing and offering advice on technical, economical and risk aspects
• make sure your code is secure, stable and efficient
• meet the high expectations of clients through frequent release cycles of quality software
• provide your expertise and architectural assistance to other team members
• investigate and resolve production issues with global teams to help maintaining a stable production environment; remain cool and effective in a crisis
• work collaboratively and effectively in a team spread across the globe and reaching over organizational boundaries
  
  

Your team
You’ll be working in the Data Analytics Pod which is part of the reporting hub within the Trade & Transfer Assets (TTA) stream. We build, support, and transform applications to empower users by providing advanced data analytics and real-time AI based insights.

Your expertise

• strong python development skills, knowledge of python based libraries ( e.g. numpy, pandas )
• knowledge of Big Data technologies ( e.g. Spark, Yarn, Parquet, Hive )
• strong knowledge of Unix servers, bash scripting, experience in supporting applications running on Unix servers
• experience with Relational Database management system such as Oracle / Postgres
• applied solutions to cater for non-functional requirements including stability, capacity and scalability and manageability
• experience with messaging middleware such as Kafka, MQ
• proficient skills with build and version control systems like: Git, Gitlab, Gradle
