The Opportunity
We have an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated Software Automation Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial for an important project stream, involving a strong PPM domain and product understanding.
Primary responsibilities will include carrying out manual and automated tests to ensure the software meets requirements. The tester will often assume the role of an end user to test the applications and features ensuring correct behaviour.
The tester will need to analyse, report and document bugs and errors to development teams. A successful candidate must be exploratory, agile, a quick learner, self-motivated and require little supervision. Adaptability and a willingness to jump in to help outside of your normal role is a requirement. The position will also require excellent communication with developers, the operations team, management and product owners. The candidate should be well-written, organized, and comfortable speaking with others and communicating with a team. A very high attention to detail is essential to be successful in this role.

What You'll Do
- Develop and execute manual and automated tests to ensure software meets requirements.
- Act as an end user to test applications and features for correct behavior.
- Analyse, report, and document bugs and errors to development teams.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and cross-functional teams to ensure quality.
- Configure, use, and manage test environments and test data.
- Create and execute test plans.
- Participate in planning and release of sprints.
- Troubleshoot issues and identify pathways to replicate problems.
- Validate product fixes and review system specifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in scrum teams developing browser-based software solutions.
- Excellent communication skills for managing business requests and working with global teams.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Java programming
- Selenium automation framework
- Testing methodologies and writing test cases
- Agile methodologies (Scrum, TDD, BDD)
- Relational databases
- Distributed teams across regions and time zones
- Experience with Katalon automation tool.
- Familiarity with tools such as GIT/AWS Code Commit, Jira, Jenkins, SharePoint, Visual Studio Code.
- Ability to review logs and identify problems.
- High attention to detail and quality-oriented.
- Adaptability and willingness to help outside of the normal role.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Critical and skeptical thinking about the product.
- Self-motivated and requiring little supervision.
