Project Role Description : Leads a team of quality engineers through multi-disciplinary team planning and ecosystem integration to accelerate delivery and drive quality across the application lifecycle. Applies business and functional knowledge to develop end-to-end testing strategies through the use of quality processes and methodologies. Applies testing methodologies, principles and processes to define and implement key metrics to manage and assess the testing process including test execution and defect resolution.

Summary: As a API Test Automation Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality, efficiency, and reliability of software products. By leveraging automation tools, quality processes, and methodologies, you will contribute to transforming testing into a continuous, efficient, and high-quality engineering function. A significant aspect of your role will involve API testing using Rest Assured with Java, including both REST and SOAP-based API testing for comprehensive validation. Additionally, you will implement service virtualization and mocking techniques, using tools like WireMock to support stable and scalable testing environments. Your responsibilities will include creating and maintaining automation scripts, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software. Roles & Responsibilities: - Serve as an expert in API testing, focusing on REST and SOAP API testing using Rest Assured and Java. - Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for API validation, utilizing service virtualization and mocking tools like WireMock. - Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage. - Seamlessly integrate test automation into the CI/CD pipeline using tools like Jenkins. - Contribute to Agile practices within the team, supporting continuous improvement in testing processes and methodologies. - Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in test automation and apply them to improve overall test efficiency. Professional & Technical Skills: - Must-Have Skills: - API Automation Testing with Rest Assured and Java, covering both REST and SOAP-based APIs - Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins - Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS or Azure) - Familiarity with management tools such as Jira and Rally for effective task tracking - Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and collaborative teamwork - Version control expertise with tools like Git - Experience with service virtualization and mocking tools (e.g., WireMock) to create reliable test environments - Good-to-Have Skills: - UI Automation Testing using Selenium with Java - API Manual Testing using Postman - Knowledge of web testing methodologies and frameworks Additional Information: - Minimum 5 years of experience in API Testing. - This position is based in our Bengaluru office. - A full-time education of at least 15 years is required.
