React Native Full Stack Developer

Our platform integrates multilingual, voice-first interfaces with edge Al technology to provide intelligent, real-time symptom analysis, and specialist mapping, even in low-connectivity environments.

    We have secured funding from Reliance Industries, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and Andhra MedTech Zone (AMTZ). We are also in active collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston, for the development of advanced healthcare Al models.

Role Description

    This is a full-time on-site role for a Full Stack Developer at O-Health located in Bengaluru. The Developer will be responsible for handling end-to-end development, from mobile application (React Native) to backend infrastructure, database management, and deployment. As a health-tech startup we also have to store, transmit and anonymize the patient data effectively on our servers in compliance to healthcare standards. We would prefer candidates with experience or knowledge in this direction. Ability to learn the existing codebase which is primarily in React Native quickly, and implement any new features at the earliest is a skillset we would require, which means the candidate must be proficient in the technologies mentioned below.

Required Skills

• React Native (Typescript, Hooks, Redux, React Navigation)
• Backend Development (Node.js with Express.js/Nest.js or Django/FastAPI)
• Healthcare Patient Data Management (Encryption, Anonymization, Secure Communication)
• ABHA integration
• Database Management (PostgreSQL, Firebase, MongoDB)
• Cloud Services (AWS/GCP, Firebase) and deployment automation
• RESTful APIs & WebSockets for real-time communication
• Authentication & Security (OAuth, JWT, Firebase Auth)
• CI/CD for deployment automation
• Experience in handling BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) data integrations onto the application

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the O-Health Android application using React Native.
• Build secure and scalable backend APIs using Node.js (Express.js/Nest.js) or Django/FastAPI.
• Optimize the app for performance, security, and scalability on low-power Android devices.
• Design and manage the database architecture (PostgreSQL, Firebase, or MongoDB).
• Deploy and maintain backend infrastructure on AWS/GCP.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployments.
• Work closely with ML engineers & frontend teams to ensure seamless model deployment.
• Debug and optimize API calls, database queries, and mobile app performance.
• Support versioning and A/B testing of health algorithms.

Backend Engineering Skills

• Strong in Python with frameworks like FastAPI with experience in DBMS.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and asynchronous data flows.
• Familiar with PostgreSQL databases.
• Working knowledge of Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field
• Experience in React Native required
• 2+ years of professional experience
• Prior work experience in HealthTech or medical applications

Other Required Skills

• Understanding of HIPAA compliance.
• Experience working on healthcare, social impact, or Al-for-good projects.
