Overview of The Role
As a Scrum Master at AVIZVA, you will be the proud skipper of project-level Scrum Ceremonies. You will act as a bridge of dialogue between the Scrum Team and other important stakeholders. You will not just spot and voice the potential hiccups in your team’s progress, but you will build solid safeguards by joining forces both within and beyond the team
As an ambassador of Scrum principles and values, you will coach your team to be a devoted Scrum follower. You will master the project scope curriculum and learn the program goal basics. You will team-up with the Product Owner and make sure that the product backlog is always up to the minute. You will be the face of your Scrum team in cross-team dependency reviews.
Job Responsibilities
- Acquire a holistic overview of all ongoing projects and initiatives within the allocated program to develop a thorough understanding of the assigned project, its objectives, scope, and alignment with the overall business strategy.
- Consolidate broader program-level knowledge with deeper project-level insights to identify significant cross-team dependencies.
- Act as the primary custodian of Scrum practices and processes for the team.
- Lead the Scrum process by driving a series of Scrum ceremonies, such as Sprint Planning, Daily Standup, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective, ensuring their effectiveness and alignment with the team's goals.
- Mentor the team by helping them understand Agile practices, Scrum principles, product vision, and scope, empowering them to develop a shared sense of ownership and a continuous drive toward improvement.
- Monitor the project's progress and provide timely feedback to ensure on-time deliverables, driving clear and transparent communication within the team and with all external stakeholders.
- Identify technical and people-centered roadblocks and risks that might hinder the team's progress towards deliverables, collaborating with team members and stakeholders to define targeted risk mitigation strategies and proactively eliminate risks.
- Estimate story points and assist the Product Owner in refining and maintaining the product backlog using project management tools, ensuring visibility and transparency for all stakeholders.
- Represent the team in the weekly Scrum of Scrums meeting, presenting a detailed report on the team's progress, achievements in the previous sprint, and alignment with the defined project goals.
- Attend the Program Increment (PI) Planning event and drive clear communication on workflow alignment and dependencies with multiple stakeholders of the Agile Release Train.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience as a Scrum Master or in an Agile project management role.
- Experience in facilitating Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective).
- Extensive hands-on expertise in utilizing Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent) for comprehensive planning, tracking, and execution of Agile projects.
- Knowledge of Agile automation, Kanban practices, and Lean principles.
- Familiarity with Agile estimation techniques (e.g., Story Pointing, Planning Poker).
- Analytical and proactive approach to problem-solving, risk mitigation, and task prioritization, with excellent communication and transparency skills.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and drive quick, well-informed decision-making through a solutions-oriented mindset.
Good to Have:
- Expertise in project scheduling tools such as Advanced Roadmap and PI Planning tools.
- Working knowledge of SAFe.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
- Positive and enthusiastic approach to learning and adapting to new methodologies.
