What You’ll Be Doing...

We are looking for a skilled and curious AI Security Engineer to help safeguard the next generation of intelligent systems. In this role, you’ll contribute to security risk assessments, conduct security architecture reviews and perform threat modeling for AI/ML systems across Verizon. This includes looking at data pipelines and ensuring that security guardrails are aligned to internal policy and industry best practices. The selected candidate will work with teams across Verizon to embed security throughout the entire AI lifecycle - from AI system design, to build and data ingestion, through deployment and continual validation.

• Performing security assessments of AI/ML systems, including model pipelines, APIs and underlying infrastructure.
• Conducting architecture reviews to evaluate security posture, identify control gaps and recommend design improvements.
• Performing threat modeling for AI features and products, with a focus on adversarial attach vectors and AI-specific risks
• Collaborating with multiple business units to embed security into the AI lifecycle.
• Contributing to secure design guidelines, architecture patterns and control frameworks for AI/ML
• Performing regular reviews of AI applications for compliance and alignment, documenting outcomes and sharing insights with stakeholders.
• Serving as a trusted advisor to the business and technology stakeholders across the enterprise to partner on AI security concerns.

What We’re Looking For...

You'll need to have:

• Bachelors degree and four or more years of work experience
• Four or more years of experience in cybersecurity, with two or more years focused on cloud or data security
• Strong technical knowledge of AI / ML technologies.
• Comprehensive understanding of cyber based frameworks including STRIDE and MITRE ATLAS
• Familiarity with adversarial ML risks and AI specific threat vectors
• Knowledge of large enterprise environments, cloud infrastructure and services, network protocols, network devices, multiple operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux, etc.), and secure architectures.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and presentation skills.
• Highly collaborative with ability to articulate ideas and influence peers and senior leaders.
• Experience working on cross-functional teams including engineering, products teams, legal and security.
