Job Description:
In this role, you will lead the development and optimization of our Android applications, ensuring high-quality user experiences and robust, scalable solutions. You will play a critical role in shaping the architecture and driving technical excellence, working closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, backend, and QA.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Android development, possess a solid understanding of GraphQL and RESTful APIs, and be familiar with FHIR standards. Additionally, knowledge of Pub/Sub patterns and WebSocket principles for event-driven architectures will be highly valued. You will also be a mentor to other engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of our mobile engineering practices.

Responsibilities:
Android Application Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable code for Android applications using Kotlin.
- Build intuitive and engaging user interfaces by collaborating with UI/UX designers.
- Optimize applications for maximum performance, responsiveness, and scalability.
API Integration & Architecture:
- Integrate GraphQL APIs alongside RESTful APIs and leverage their strengths to deliver efficient and dynamic data handling.
- Implement FHIR-compliant solutions for interoperability with healthcare systems.
- Architect and implement event-driven features using Pub/Sub patterns and WebSocket principles.
Architecture & Technical Leadership:
- Define and implement architectural patterns such as MVVM or other clean architecture principles.
- Drive the adoption of best practices for Android development, including modularization, dependency injection, and unit testing.
- Ensure code quality through rigorous code reviews and automated testing frameworks.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work:
- Work closely with backend engineers to design and integrate APIs and other data services into mobile applications.
- Collaborate with QA engineers to establish test automation frameworks and ensure the delivery of bug-free applications.
- Partner with product managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Mentorship & Team Development:
- Act as a technical mentor for junior and mid-level Android engineers, providing guidance and fostering growth.
- Contribute to the team knowledge-sharing by documenting processes, conducting workshops, and presenting new ideas.
- Assist in hiring efforts by conducting technical interviews and evaluating potential candidates.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on the latest Android development trends, tools, and technologies to ensure the team remains at the cutting edge.
- Identify areas for improvement in existing systems and processes and propose innovative solutions.
- Proactively address technical debt and improve the scalability and maintainability of the codebase.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in Android development with a strong portfolio of published apps.
- Programming Languages: Expertise in Kotlin; familiarity with Java is a plus.
- Android SDK: Deep knowledge of the Android ecosystem, including Android Jetpack components, ViewModels, LiveData, Room, and WorkManager.
- GraphQL & APIs: Solid understanding of GraphQL, with experience in designing and integrating GraphQL APIs alongside RESTful APIs.
- FHIR Standards: Familiarity with FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) or willingness to learn and implement FHIR-compliant solutions.
- Event-Driven Systems: Knowledge of Pub/Sub patterns and WebSocket principles for building responsive, real-time applications.
- UI Development: Strong understanding of Material Design principles and ability to create pixel-perfect UIs.
- Testing: Experience with unit testing (e.g., JUnit) and UI testing frameworks (e.g., Espresso, Robolectric).
- Tooling: Proficiency with Android Studio, Gradle, and version control systems like Git.
- CI/CD: Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment pipelines, especially for mobile apps.
- Experience with healthtech or other regulated industries, including familiarity with compliance standards such as HIPAA.
- Knowledge of mobile-specific security practices, such as encryption, secure storage, and authentication methods.
- Familiarity with Firebase services for analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications.
- Exposure to cross-platform frameworks like Flutter or React Native is a bonus, though the focus is native Android.
- Experience with multi-module app structures and large-scale Android application architecture.

Pay: Up to ₹3,000,000.00 per year
