Senior Android Developer

Overview

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Android Developer with expertise in TV app development to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Android TV (Lean back), OTT platforms, and media streaming applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize Android TV applications using Kotlin/Java.
• Implement and maintain features using Android TV Leanback library.
• Work with ExoPlayer, DRM solutions, and adaptive streaming protocols (HLS, DASH).
• Optimize UI/UX for big-screen experiences and remote navigation.
• Ensure app performance, scalability, and security.
• Integrate third-party APIs, analytics, and cloud-based services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers, backend developers, and QA teams.
• Stay updated with the latest Android TV SDKs, Google Play policies, and best practices.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in Android development.
• Strong expertise in Android TV app development (Leanback UI, custom TV UIs).
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
• Experience with ExoPlayer, video streaming protocols (HLS, DASH), and DRM (Widevine, PlayReady).
• Familiarity with MVVM, Jetpack components, and dependency injection frameworks (Dagger/Hilt).
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and GraphQL.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and Play Store submission process.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile development environment.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Smart TV, Fire TV, Roku, or Apple TV development.
• Knowledge of Flutter, React Native, or cross-platform frameworks.
• Understanding of monetization strategies (ads, subscriptions, in-app purchases).
