We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Business Analyst
Purpose of the role
- Global HUB and Core Banking Support (GHCS) is on a mission to drive a superior banking experience for our customers by effectively managing and safeguarding our Core Banking and Peripheral systems. We provide first line production support for Core Banking and peripheral systems of the HSBC Group. The support includes Investigation & Incident Resolution Management, Parameter Control, Maintenance & Governance, Project Support & HUB Optimization, User Entitlement Management and Data extraction

- Ensure compliance with HSBC Group company policies and procedures, including regulatory requirements. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply within Sri Lanka and in relation to the countries migrating work with the GSC.
- Usage of SQL, SAS I series applications to extract the data from the HUB system and share the reports as per Business requirements.
- Investigate and respond to HUB user problems, manage set up of HUB parameters in HUB, maintain standing data (SD) tables to ensure expected results from HUB to support business requirements.
- Ensure that the HUB Manager functions are performed in line with BIM Vol. 2 – Administration, Control and Retail Banking Operations and MI is released in accordance with the group standards on information security procedures and policies.
- Generate periodic project status updates to the Business and Management
- Conduct System Acceptance Testing (SAT), raise defects and ensure system stability prior to UAT
- Assist the Business Analysts during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), with defect resolution and attending to system related queries from business
- Produce project documentation such as Terms of Reference, Document of Understanding, etc.
- To provide excellent customer service by ensuring the responses are accurate, meaningful and contain relevant and constructive information; assisting in establishing robust processes and that these processes operate efficiently and effectively, while maintaining the agreed SLA/PLA.
- To assume responsibility for the relevant process/function and operational integrity of the team by ensuring that all operations are handled in accordance with procedures and that the Management .
- Min 3 – 5 years of working experience of Group’s Core Banking and Peripheral Applications, more specific to HUB, CARM, RPS etc. environment (E)
- Ability to maintain control, direction, and motivation in an ever-changing environment. (E)
- Functional Knowledge & experience of Payments, Core Banking Operations, Finance, Lending, Trade, Internet Banking, CARM etc. (E)
- Technical expertise on SQL coding, SAS, Python, MACROs, Microsoft excel Coding (*specific to the Data Extraction Module in GHCS) (E)
- Excellent Stakeholder Management and Governance skills to manage the Relationship Manager responsibility (E)
- Excellent business Writing skills (E)
