Senior Data Analyst

Role Introduction

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong organizational and technical skills for the position of Senior Data Analyst.

The person in this role will be an expert in managing and analysing large sets of data, maintaining data integrity and communicating relevant insights to the company, and collaborate with their team and other key stakeholders to understand and deliver their data needs with pace. You will be supporting enterprise reporting of product and portfolio performance to executive stakeholders.

What You Will Do

• Track and report key metrics, performance indicators, insights across all areas of the Engineering function to ensure that all projects are delivered within cost and on time to the highest quality standards
• Oversee new and existing applications, suggest best practices, and lead projects to introduce new functionality
• Enterprise reporting of product and portfolio performance
• Perform data mining on various data sources before organizing the data in a readable format
• Prepare charts and reports to effectively communicate the insights and predictions gained from the data
• Work closely with top management to prioritize information and analytic needs
• Identify trends and patterns through analysis of complex data sets
• Design visualizations and build dashboards in Power BI. Extract business insights from the data and models
• Applying knowledge of software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Aid managers & stakeholders with exception reporting
• Maintain Metrics & Reports for Leadership team
• Manage data in database systems
  
  

What You Will Have

• Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Analytics with strong math and analytical background, An equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable for the position
• Overall 6+ years of experience and out of which must have had at least 3+ years of Data engineering or similar experience in Performance and Analytics
• Good understanding of SDLC and Software Engineering KPI’s/metrics e.g. defect leakage, cycle time, velocity etc.
• Experience in developing BI OLAP Semantic data models for large scale data warehouse/ using Power BI Premium/Fabric
• Proficient knowledge of DAX language, Power Pivot and Power Query (including M language), SQL for data extraction and analysis
• Experience working with any Data Platforms is desirable
• Experience with forecasting and SDLC analysis
• Experience with unstructured data processing and real-time data pipelines
• Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience to process data for modelling
• Proficiency with tools like PowerPoint, JIRA, AHA! (desirable), SQL, Excel reporting capabilities will be desirable
• Knowledge of JIRA configuration, administration & JQL
• Knowledge of using API’s for data extraction
• Very strong knowledge in database modelling and ETL processes
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Result oriented with ability to plan and deliver against deadlines
• Experience with AWS solutions
• Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
• Collaborate with support functions
• Good listening skills, articulation, and presentation skills
• Acute attention to detail
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
