Senior Data Engineer

Talent Formula is a consulting firm that offers outsourced financial and accounting talent to Chartered Accounting firms worldwide. We are currently sourcing for Data Engineer. We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic, can fit in the team with the following requirements.

The Senior Data Engineer is a new and unique role critical to helping us realize our vision for new and valuable data products and services. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and platforms that enable the creation and deployment of data products. Your eye for intuitive and simple design, combined with mature data engineering and machine learning skills, and a strong work ethic, will position you well to experience a rewarding career with Talent Formula.

Design And Development

What you do if you join us:

• Architect, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and workflows to support data architecture in the hospitality industry.
• Develop data models and schemas that facilitate seamless integration with downstream analytics and applications.
• Automating build and deployment pipelines for end-to-end customer lifecycle
• Proactively seek to link analytical outputs to commercial outcomes
• Optimize components to run efficiently in the cloud
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving data pipeline issues and infrastructure-related problems in a timely manner
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and governance frameworks
• Contribute to the product roadmap, sprint planning, stand-ups, and ensuring the scrum board is up to date
• Document data engineering processes, workflows, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure reproducibility

We would love to hear from you if you…

• have 5+ years of experience in data engineering / analytics
• have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, or computer science
• understand good data design principles
• are proficient in the development and operation data pipelines
• production python experience
• can work with others to hypothesize and identify trends in data to achieve results for customers.
• are experienced with SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and ETL tools (dbt, stored procs)
• familiar with cloud hosting services (mainly, Google, Azure), and their data services
• familiar with ML techniques (mainly, regarding text analysis and classification)
  
  

It would be fantastic but not essential if you have experience working with any of the following technologies:

• Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub)
• Azure (MS SQL Server)
• Postman (API development)
• Python Django
• DBT, Stored procedures
• ML (text analysis, classification)
• Tableau/Looker Studio/Power BI
