🔍 Role Overview
Mactores is seeking a Senior AWS Data Engineer with deep expertise in PySpark, SQL, and AWS-native data pipelines. You will design, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions across EMR/Glue, Redshift/Snowflake, Athena, Presto, and Airflow. This is a high-impact role working on modern data ecosystems, collaborating closely with engineering and customer teams.
🧩 What You Will Do
- Develop & maintain scalable data pipelines using Amazon EMR or AWS Glue
- Build data models and implement end-user querying across Redshift, Snowflake, Athena, and Presto
- Develop and manage pipeline orchestration using Airflow
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs & build solutions
- Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize data pipelines & data models
- Write and maintain PySpark and SQL ETL scripts
- Document technical solutions clearly for both technical & non-technical stakeholders
- Stay updated with new AWS data services and assess their impact
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years hands-on experience with PySpark and SQL
- 3+ years of pipeline development using Amazon EMR or AWS Glue
- 3+ years of experience in data modeling and querying using:
- Amazon Redshift
- Snowflake
- Amazon Athena
- Presto
- 2+ year experience with pipeline orchestration using Airflow
- Strong troubleshooting & problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication & collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- AWS Data Analytics Specialty Certification
- Experience with Agile development methodology
