The Senior Data Engineer leads on data collection, cleaning, organizing, and preparing data. Also conducts complex data analysis and reporting on results. Also builds algorithms and prototypes. Where developing new algorithms, disseminates work externally. Works closely with the Data Scientists on the deployment of prototypes.
Responsibilities
Data engineering certification required
At least six years of experience as a data engineer or similar role
Expertise in data collection, cleaning, and organization
Experience building complex databases
Technical experience with building data models and data mining
Experience with Python and/or R
Great organizational and analytic skills

Responsibilities
- Lead on the evaluation and understanding of business/team needs and objectives and interpret them into data collection and analysis efforts
- Lead on the development of instruments and protocols for data collection efforts specific to research questions
- Lead on building instruments and protocols in appropriate forms (e.g. Qualtrics, Survey Gizmo, Word Documents)
- Lead data collection efforts to ensure teams receive the amount of data required to answer research questions
- Leads on the organization (e.g. creation of required variables) and preparation for analysis for prescriptive and predictive models
- Identify information from various sources to create a comprehensive database
- Lead on the development of algorithms and prototypes aligned to project or initiative needs
- Conduct very complex data analyses to answer research questions
- Act as lead collaborator with teams to interpret findings and create insights that are applicable to business objectives
- Demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Work effectively within the agile framework
- Lead on building the data engineering practice and community, determining best practices and guidelines, mentoring and training junior data engineers, identifying development opportunities.
Data engineering certification required
