The client is building the AI operating system for advanced manufacturing and battery

R&D. Our platform ingests massive volumes of battery, equipment, and process data and turns

it into actionable intelligence for engineers - cutting root cause analysis from months to hours

and preventing millions in scrap and downtime.

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to own and lead our data foundation - from

ingestion to semantic modeling - so our AI agents can reason reliably over complex

manufacturing data.

What You’ll Do

As a core member of the client, AI engineering team, you will:

Data Ingestion & Pipelines

• Design and own scalable data ingestion pipelines for:
  
  
  

○ Battery testing data (electrochemical, cycling, diagnostics)

○ Equipment and sensor data from manufacturing tools

○ Process recipes, SPC/SQC logs, and quality data

• Build robust batch and streaming pipelines using Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, and
  
  
  

GCP-based data services.

Data Cleaning & Normalization (Core Responsibility)

• Lead complex data cleaning efforts across noisy, incomplete, and inconsistent
  
  
  

manufacturing datasets.

• Handle real-world challenges such as:
  
  
  

○ Missing sensor values

○ Time-series misalignment

○ Equipment drift and logging inconsistencies

○ Unit mismatches and schema evolution

• Implement automated validation, anomaly detection, and data quality checks.
  
  
  

• Design and maintain analytical and AI-ready data models.
• Build a semantic layer that maps raw battery and process data into:
  
  
  

○ Engineer-friendly abstractions

○ AI-consumable representations for root cause analysis, SPC, and predictive

models

• Ensure data is structured so AI agents can reason over it reliably and contextually.
  
  
  

Cloud & Platform Ownership

• Own cloud-native data infrastructure across AWS and GCP.
• Optimize performance, cost, reliability, and scalability.
• Work closely with AI/ML engineers to ensure data availability and usability.
  
  
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with:
  
  
  

○ AI/ML engineers building agentic workflows

○ Domain experts in battery manufacturing and materials science

○ Product leadership to align data models with customer workflows

Required

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  
  
  

○ Snowflake

○ Databricks

○ AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda, etc.)

○ Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, etc.)

• Deep understanding of data cleaning, transformation, and validation in complex,
  
  
  

real-world datasets.

• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience designing data models for analytics and machine learning use cases.
  
  
  

Strong Plus

• Experience with time-series, sensor, or industrial/manufacturing data.
• Exposure to battery data, electrochemistry, or equipment/process data.
• Experience building semantic layers or feature stores for AI/ML systems.
• Familiarity with streaming frameworks and orchestration tools.
