In This Role, You Will

In This Role, You Will
- Design, develop, and manage databases on the AWS cloud platform
- Develop and maintain automation scripts or jobs to perform routine database tasks such as provisioning, backups, restores, and data migrations.
- Build and maintain automated testing frameworks for database changes and upgrades to minimize the risk of introducing errors.
- Implement self-healing mechanisms to automatically recover from database failures or performance degradation.
- Integrate database automation tools with CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery and deployment of database changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data requirements and ensure that the databases meet their needs
- Implement and manage database security policies, including access control, data encryption, and backup and recovery procedures
- Ensure that database backups and disaster recovery procedures are in place and tested regularly
- Develop and maintain database documentation, including data dictionaries, data models, and technical specifications
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends and evaluate new tools and products that could improve database performance and scalability.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in designing, building, and administering databases on the AWS cloud platform
- Strong experience with Infra as Code (CloudFormation/AWS CDK) and automation experience in Python
- In-depth knowledge of AWS database services such as Amazon RDS, EC2, S3, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon Redshift and Postgres/Mysql/SqlServer
- Strong understanding of database design principles, data modelling, and normalisation
- Experience with database migration to AWS cloud platform
- Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or AWS Certified Database Specialty are a plus.
