About the Role
As the Senior DevOps Engineer, you will:
- Architect, build, and optimize our end-to-end cloud infrastructure across AWS (and potentially Azure/GCP).
- Implement robust CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and monitoring systems to support AI model deployments, microservices, and SaaS components.
- Collaborate closely with AI, Backend, and UI teams to streamline release cycles, automate environments, and ensure security, scalability, and performance.
- Lead all aspects of infrastructure automation, data pipeline orchestration, cost optimization, and disaster recovery, while helping shape best practices for our growing engineering stream.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Automation
- Design and manage multi-cloud architectures primarily on AWS, leveraging services like ECS/Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Route53, and more.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK to ensure scalable and reproducible deployments.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or Azure DevOps) to enable automated testing and continuous delivery across environments.
Containerization & Orchestration
- Build and manage Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters for AI workloads and microservices.
- Implement deployment pipelines for containerized applications and ML models in a production-grade environment.
Monitoring, Logging, and Security
- Set up observability frameworks using Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, and Datadog for real-time system health insights.
- Ensure infrastructure security, including IAM governance, secrets management, VPC configuration, and automated backup/recovery policies.
AI/ML & Data Infrastructure Support
- Collaborate with AI engineers to deploy LLMs, ML pipelines, and data workflows using services like AWS SageMaker, AWS Glue, Redshift, and Step Functions.
- Build resilient data pipelines integrating ETL frameworks (Airflow, PySpark, Databricks) to process and manage large volumes of construction data.
Leadership & Strategy
- Establish DevOps standards, playbooks, and documentation for a scalable tech culture.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, technology selection, and process design.
- Mentor future DevOps hires and collaborate cross-functionally to define long-term infrastructure strategy.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- 10+ years of DevOps / Cloud Engineering experience, ideally across multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Deep understanding of CI/CD automation, IaC, and container orchestration.
- Strong expertise in AWS-native services and serverless architectures (Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, etc.).
- Proven experience supporting AI/ML workloads, data pipelines, and hybrid infrastructure setups.
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, CloudWatch, Prometheus, SonarCube).
- Familiarity with security best practices, including IAM, network policies, encryption, and compliance.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, ownership attitude, and ability to thrive in fast-paced startup environments.
