We are seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer with strong experience across AWS and on-prem environments, ideally with a product engineering background. This role requires deep expertise in Linux, Python, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native engineering. The ideal candidate will work as a senior individual contributor, capable of independently building and maintaining scalable infrastructure, improving developer productivity, and ensuring platform reliability.

💼 Overview
The Lead DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable infrastructure across AWS and on-prem environments. This role focuses on automation, platform reliability, CI/CD pipelines, and observability.
You will work closely with engineering, QA, and IT teams to improve infrastructure performance, optimize deployment workflows, and support high-availability systems.
🎯 Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
- Design and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, EKS/ECS, Lambda, Route53, and ALB/NLB
- Troubleshoot and support on-prem infrastructure including Proxmox, networking, storage systems, and bare-metal provisioning
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation
Configuration Management & Automation
- Implement configuration management using Ansible (preferred), Chef, or Puppet
- Develop automation scripts and tooling using Python, Bash, and other scripting languages
- Build reusable automation frameworks, playbooks, and internal tooling
CI/CD & Build Engineering
- Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitHub Workflows, and ArgoCD
- Improve build systems, artifact packaging, and deployment workflows
Containerization & Orchestration
- Manage containerized environments using Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, Helm, and Kustomize
- Support scalable microservices infrastructure and container deployments
Observability, Monitoring & Incident Management
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Loki, CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic, or Splunk
- Provide operational support and lead incident troubleshooting and resolution
Security & DevSecOps
- Implement DevSecOps best practices including IAM hardening, secret management, dependency scanning, and container security
- Work with tools such as HashiCorp Vault, AWS KMS, Trivy, or similar
Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, QA, and IT teams
- Improve developer experience by modernizing infrastructure and automation tooling
✅ Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, preferably in product engineering environments
- Strong expertise in Linux administration (Rocky Linux, CentOS, or Ubuntu)
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, and automation scripting
- Hands-on experience with:
- AWS cloud services
- Kubernetes and containerization
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation)
- Configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
- CI/CD pipelines and build automation
- Monitoring and observability platforms
- Experience working with hybrid environments (cloud + on-prem infrastructure)
- Strong troubleshooting and incident resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and implement infrastructure design solutions

- Experience with analytical database systems or distributed data platforms
- Knowledge of zero-trust security architectures
- Experience working in high-performance data or cloud infrastructure environments
