Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Purpose

As a DevOps Engineer, your primary purpose is to bridge the gap between software development and IT operations by implementing and managing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. You will ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality software products by automating processes, enhancing system reliability, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Your role is crucial in optimizing the software development lifecycle, reducing time-to-market, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure solutions.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to automate and streamline deployment processes.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of services.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and delivery.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Ensure security best practices are followed and integrated into the DevOps processes.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or related role.
• Strong proficiency with CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Solid development experience with .NET and Java platforms.
• Experience with database development using MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with DevOps tools like source-control (Git, TFVC) and repository managers (Artifactory, Nexus, and/or Azure Artifacts).
• Proficiency with Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration.
• Familiarity with SDLC processes particularly with Scrum.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
