JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities
- As part of the SRE team you will be owning and managing the infrastructure (Compute, Data Stores, Cloud Services, etc) that power Sense Application and Services.
- Devise solutions that address performance, scale and architectural issues, that arise as the Business and Engineering complexity grows.
- Heavy focus on automating all aspects of Cloud Operations, such as Infrastructure (InfraAsCode), Configuration Management, Monitoring & Alerting, Performance Insights, Infra Costs, and so on.
- Ensure monitoring coverage of all Production services, and be part of On call rotation to monitor and address critical issues, with a focus on actions that result in long-term remediation.
SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
- 3+ years hands-on experience building and maintaining modern Infrastructure and Backend Services like Kafka, Elasticsearch, Redis, Mysql, Postgres, etc in a cloud based environment, such as AWS.
- Experience administrating and maintaining Linux systems serving Production traffic and workloads, with strong focus on networking and system fundamentals. Container technologies is a plus.
- Strong scripting and high-level programming knowledge and experience specifically to systems and related tooling
- Strong understanding of major infrastructure components, such as Load balancers, Web Servers, Databases, Queueing systems, etc.
- Good understanding of modern distributed systems, their architecutre, trade offs and operability concerns and solutions.
- Capable of multi-tasking and be willing to adapt to changes quickly in a startup environment
- Being able to own a project end-to-end while being proactive about updates/blockers, with getting things done (GTD) attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient with AWS IaaS products (EC2, VPC, S3, etc)
- Is proficient and has hands-on experience working with Python and Ansible
- Is proficeint with container technologies beyond Docker, such as Podman, and Container Orchestration systems such as ECS, or Nomad.
