Overview
You're a DevOps engineer who doesn't simply maintain uptime—you architect systems that prevent outages before they happen. If you find satisfaction in unraveling complex legacy infrastructure, engineering more efficient architectures, and automating every manual process you come across, this role is built for you. We're seeking a DevOps and AWS infrastructure specialist who excels in high-pressure environments where 99.9% uptime is the baseline expectation. You'll operate across a diverse portfolio of acquired products, each presenting unique challenges, transitioning them into a unified, scalable AWS infrastructure while implementing monitoring and automation strategies that genuinely minimize incident frequency.
Most organizations ask you to support a single technology stack. We're asking you to unify and refine multiple stacks without introducing disruption. Where others segregate databases, we take a different approach, strategically consolidating them to drive cost efficiency and streamline management across our entire portfolio. This position isn't designed for someone content with maintaining the status quo; it's for someone who encounters a fragmented, inconsistent environment and immediately begins architecting improvements.
You'll take full ownership of infrastructure migrations, AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database transitions, and cost reduction initiatives. This includes identifying and resolving system failures, planning and implementing smooth cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and leveraging AI/ML-driven workflows to automate significant portions of operational overhead. You'll hold genuine decision-making authority over infrastructure choices—no delays waiting for sign-offs from stakeholders disconnected from the technical reality.
If you're a self-directed problem-solver who enjoys transforming complex systems into efficient, reliable operations, this role will be highly rewarding. If you require constant guidance, struggle with managing diverse technology stacks, or prefer greenfield projects over bringing structure to existing complexity, this environment won't suit you. If you're prepared to assume ownership of a high-impact infrastructure position with opportunities to build, refine, and automate at scale, submit your application now!
What You Will Be Doing
- Executing detailed planning and implementation of complex infrastructure transformations, including transitions from legacy environments to AWS cloud platforms and lift-and-shift migration projects
- Architecting and deploying comprehensive monitoring strategies and creating automation for monitoring systems, software deployment pipelines, and operational processes
- Managing system monitoring activities, backup operations, incident resolution, database migration projects, database configuration tasks, and cost optimization efforts
- Spending your time in Jira and repetitive status meetings - we prioritize people who deliver solutions, not just document issues
- Keeping legacy systems on life support indefinitely - you'll be empowered to implement substantial improvements
- Waiting through bureaucratic approval processes - you'll possess the authority to deploy immediate fixes when addressing incidents
- Being confined to narrow technical specializations - this position demands both comprehensive knowledge and specialized expertise
- Justifying budget requests for essential infrastructure improvements - we recognize the strategic value of infrastructure investment
- Drive reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our growing product portfolio by implementing robust monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.
- Deep AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our primary platform - other cloud experience alone won't cut it)
- Experience scripting with Python and Bash for day-to-day administration operations
- Experience managing and migrating production databases with multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
- Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
- Linux systems administration expertise
