Job Description:
Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for enhancements and new products. Develops software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, cloud-based and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design. A seasoned, experienced professional with complete understating of principals, concepts, practices and standards. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Typically requires a degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience.

About Us
We are at the forefront of developing a state-of-the-art digital weld operator for Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) applications. Our software, created with Siemens TIA Portal and Visual Studio Code, runs on industrial PLCs and integrates smoothly with various actuators, motors, and sensors. It also includes integrating with an multi-threaded C++ application on Linux, other embedded control systems and user-friendly Human-Machine Interface.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior PLC Developer with a passion of innovation and proven track record in delivering high performance software solutions. In this role, you will work on a modern PLC implementation taking the next step of PLC development into modern software infrastructure enabling continuous integration, rapid releases with quality, ensuring testability and scalability. We believe you have a background of object oriented programming and can support software design on multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Design the software on a PLC systems for industrial automation welding product(s), ensuring the code is clean, testable, and maintainable for long-term scalability.
You will be responsible to implement new external sensors, motors, actuators and logic to meet multiple customer applications requirements in the same code base. You will sustain a clear hardware abstraction and interfaces, addressing performance bottlenecks while ensuring that the software aligns with the broader system-of-systems architecture.
You will be responsible to integrate the software with a HMI, a control system (C++) for automated welding, a control system for welding power source (C++) with optimized communication protocols like PROFINET.
You contribute to sustaining a Hardware in the Loop test system as well as complete end system test stations and support test activities. You may be subjected to make installation of new systems at customer sites as well.
Collaboration is critical in this role; you will work closely with cross-functional international teams, including hardware engineers and operations specialists, to deliver robust, well- integrated solutions. Taking ownership of backlog tasks, you will drive them to completion independently, maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines. Your ability to approach complex challenges with a system-level perspective and a collaborative mindset will be central to your success in this position.
Must-Have Skills
- PLC programming: Proven experience in PLC programming with a strong understanding of automation and control systems. Experience from Siemens TIA Portal and Visual Studio Codes.
- Languages: Structured Text 5+ years, knowledge of Ladder logic, Function block diagram
- Object oriented programming: 5+ years of professional experience in C++, Python or similar
- Networking protocols: Good Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
- Testable Code: Deep understanding of software design principles and practices for writing testable and maintainable code.
- System Thinking: Proven ability to work on complex systems and understand interactions within a system-of-systems architecture.
- Collaborative Mindset: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines and with diverse stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Familiarity with Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) processes or other industrial welding technologies
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern software development tools (e.g., CMake, Git).
- HMI development in Siemens TIA portal
- Simatic AX knowledge
