About the Team:

The Firmenkundenportal (FKP) Engineering Team partners with Vodafone Germany, maintaining and enhancing the FKP portal—an online gateway that enables corporate customers to purchase and manage subscriptions for both mobile and fixed-line products. The team is responsible for building new features, improving existing functionalities, and providing production support to ensure seamless operations for Vodafone's corporate clients.

About This Role:

As a Senior Java/J2EE Developer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of scalable backend solutions using Java/J2EE technologies. This role requires strong experience in Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, along with exposure to modern tools like Git, Azure DevOps, and optionally MinIO. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring system stability, high performance, and seamless delivery of telecom applications.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Application Development & Enhancement:

• Designing and architecting scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-performance systems.

• Designing and developing backend systems using Java/J2EE (Spring, Hibernate, REST, Servlets, JSP).

• Building and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices for telecom platforms.

• Writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code that adheres to best practices.

Database Design & Optimization:

• Developing and optimizing database queries using Oracle (PL/SQL) / PostgreSQL.

• Analyzing and fine-tuning database performance for telecom-related use cases.

System Integration:

• Utilizing Git for source control and managing CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps.

• Working on performance tuning, code reviews, and troubleshooting in live environments.

• Leveraging MinIO or object storage platforms where applicable (added advantage).

Team Collaboration & Agile Delivery:

• Participating in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Collaborating with business analysts, QA engineers, and product owners to deliver robust telecom features.

• Leading or managing cross-functional teams, taking ownership of technical projects.

What We’re Looking For:

• 10–15 years of hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, including Spring, Hibernate, Servlets, JSP, and REST.

• Expertise in Oracle (PL/SQL) and PostgreSQL databases.

• Strong understanding of software design principles, architecture, and object-oriented programming.

• Experience using Git for version control and Azure DevOps for build/deployment automation.

• Background in the telecom domain, with experience working on OSS/BSS systems or telecom-specific platforms being an added advantage.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a global environment.

• Exposure to MinIO or cloud-native object storage platforms is a plus.

• Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM development methodologies.

• Strong experience with JUnit, Mockito, and Power Mock.

• Strong analytical skills, capable of solving complex technical problems.

• Ability to make strategic decisions on tech stack, architecture, and project timelines.

• Ability to mentor junior developers and provide code reviews.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or MCA (Master of Computer Applications).
