Senior Network Engineer

Overview

This role requires broad and deep technology knowledge in network engineering design and maintenance, along with the ability to architect solutions by applying advanced analysis skills to map operational challenges to appropriate end-to-end technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage enterprise-level LAN and WAN IP-based infrastructure systems across multiple sites.
• Oversee and maintain IT infrastructures for operational networks of multiple security classification levels.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for all IT infrastructure-related matters.
• Perform root cause analyses on technical issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Work within strict timeframes and SLAs, escalating incidents when necessary.
• Support network installations, software, and hardware upgrades for on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Resolve technical issues and prepare incident reports, maintenance advisories, and IT memos.
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure zero downtime.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance and troubleshoot LAN (Ethernet, HSRP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF) and WAN (IP, MPLS) issues.
• Maintain project plans and documentation of system builds and modifications.
• Perform enterprise traffic analysis (e.g., link utilization, latency, dropped packets) to optimize network performance.
• Monitor bandwidth utilization and application performance, identifying inefficiencies and implementing optimizations.
• Provide advanced technical analysis of infrastructure challenges and develop solutions based on customer needs.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments to improve infrastructure security posture.
• Support internal customer technical needs on all IT matters.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, engaging with executives, internal teams, vendors, and external customers.
• Lead, motivate, and coordinate teams to provide timely operational support.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility in IT networking infrastructure projects.
• Involvement in at least 3 relevant technical projects, with 1 occurring within the past 3 years.
• Expertise in infrastructure design, architecture, deployment, operations, maintenance, and upgrades in a BPO environment.
• Solid experience in planning, designing, integrating, optimizing, securing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructures.
• Experience managing mid-sized operational networks (2000+ workstations) in a high-paced BPO environment.
• Proven ability to lead a team of Level 1 and Level 2 engineers providing technical support in a BPO setting.
• Superior problem-solving, troubleshooting, and reasoning skills at a systems engineer level.
• Working knowledge of Palo Alto Networks and F5 Networks.
• Broad experience with Firewalls, IPS/IDS, and Threat Prevention.
• At least 5 years of experience with Palo Alto Firewall and Cisco Firepower Firewalls.
• Strong skills in Palo Alto Panorama Firewall Management Console.
• Willingness to work on a rotational shift and be on-call 24/7.

Education / Certifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering Communications, or equivalent experience.
• CCNA/CCNP Certifications required.
