Primary Key Responsibilities (Top 3-5 KRA) for a Scrum Master role:

  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospective meetings, and other agile ceremonies to ensure seamless adoption of agile practices.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to refine and prioritize the backlog, ensuring that sprint goals reflect the team's capacity and the business objectives.
  • Assist the team in identifying, planning, and managing interdependencies across domains, addressing impediments promptly to avoid jeopardizing the sprint goals.
  • Promote continuous improvement within the team by driving retrospective outcomes and fostering a collaborative environment to enhance delivery efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure the team adheres to agile principles while delivering high-quality, production-ready increments every sprint, supporting post-release review and necessary maintenance activities.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Act as a coach for team members, guiding them in agile methodologies and helping them achieve personal and professional growth.
  • Provide transparent progress updates through sprint reviews and dashboards, articulating complex challenges and solutions to stakeholders and higher management.
  • Establish effective communication channels within virtual teams, potentially consisting of onshore and offshore resources, to support a synchronized team environment.
  • Encourage a culture of proactive issue resolution, enabling team members to address concerns autonomously and minimizing the need for escalations.
  • Champion the adoption of agile tools and practices that improve team collaboration and productivity, aligning with the overarching technical strategy and business objectives.
  • Ensure that technical solutions are effectively delivered, aligned to the CFT technical strategy and deliver value to our business partners.
  • Be able to articulate complex problems, risks and solutions to key stakeholders.
  • Provision of regular reports to senior management on the progress and issues affecting releases.
  • Manage the smooth transition from the project delivery team into BAU.
  • Shows strength in negotiation both internally and externally to ensure successful resolution of issues prior to escalation.
  • Ability to independently drive change within the team that will improve the overall efficiency and throughput.
  • Focus on driving solutions rather than highlighting problems, working collaboratively across teams.

Knowledge & Skills (Must Have) :

  • Cloud Platforms: Solid understanding of cloud platforms, especially Azure, and their related services.
  • Technical background : Experience in technology and software engineering practices, with the ability to guide and influence technical decisions and implement effective delivery practices.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work closely with engineers for efficient delivery and analysis.
  • Data Management: Proficiency in data projects and concepts, including data governance, data quality, data integration, and data lifecycle management.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall, along with related tools.
  • Team Leadership: Experience in building and leading geographically distributed teams, defining the appropriate target operating model.
  • Partner with the business lead, programme managers and technical resources to deliver key milestones in a complex environment

Knowledge & Skills (Additional) :

  • Develop and manage plans for projects in own area over the short/medium term
  • Able to explain concepts to a variety of audiences and to ensure that the meaning is understood.
  • Expert knowledge on the IT industry and emerging trends particularly with a focus on enabling world class business solutions.
  • Detailed knowledge on best practices, strategies, and processes associated with the ITIL framework

Experience:

  • 8-10 years of experience with 5+ years as a Scrum Master
  • Experience with Agile development (Scrum/Kanban) is must
  • Experience with task tracking systems like Jira is must
  • Should have worked on Data delivery projects

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT
  • Certified Scrum Master is a Must
  • SAFE Certified is a plus
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus
  • Azure Data platform certifications is a plus
