What you'll be doing…
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to design, develop, and support highly scalable analytics solutions in a production environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering and analytics using Scala and Python, along with expertise in AWS services.
- You will collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and Operations to build robust data pipelines, implement advanced analytics, and derive actionable insights from large-scale datasets.
- Designing and implementing scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines using Scala and AWS services (Redshift, Glue, Athena, Lambda, Kinesis).
- Developing analytics solutions and data processing workflows using Scala as the primary language and Python as a secondary language.
- Creating and maintaining ETL processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses and data lakes.
- Optimizing query performance and data models in Redshift and Athena for efficient data analysis.
- Implementing real-time data streaming and processing solutions using Kinesis and Lambda.
- Collaborating with data scientists to productionize machine learning models and integrate them into data workflows.
- Ensuring data quality, integrity, and security across all analytics platforms.
- Troubleshooting complex data issues and optimizing system performance.
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to best practices for data engineering.
What we're looking for…
You are a self-driven individual with experience in designing and implementing complex data analytics solutions, particularly using Scala and AWS technologies. You have a passion for turning data into actionable insights and are comfortable working with large-scale datasets. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are not afraid to tackle challenging data problems.
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Experience in data engineering or analytics roles.
- Strong proficiency in Scala programming, particularly for data processing and analytics tasks.
- Working knowledge of Python for data analysis and scripting.
- Extensive experience with AWS analytics services, including Redshift, Glue, Athena, Lambda, and Kinesis.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and SQL.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Hive.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Master's degree in a quantitative field. Experience with machine learning and statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices for data pipelines.
- Experience with real-time analytics and streaming data architectures.
- Contributions to open-source data projects or relevant publications.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
