We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Imaging) with 5-7 years of experience to design, develop, and optimize advanced Ophthalmic imaging applications.
You will play a critical role in building scalable, AI-enabled tools for segmentation, annotation, structural biomarker extraction, and longitudinal disease tracking across Ophthalmic imaging data.

Primary Purpose
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Imaging) with 5-7 years of experience to design, develop, and optimize advanced Ophthalmic imaging applications.
You will play a critical role in building scalable, AI-enabled tools for segmentation, annotation, structural biomarker extraction, and longitudinal disease tracking across Ophthalmic imaging data.
You will work closely with product, clinical, and engineering teams in an agile environment to deliver innovative, production-grade imaging solutions that redefine clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and optimize Python-based imaging pipelines for Ophthalmic image analysis.
- Implement AI-driven segmentation algorithms using frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and OpenCV.
- Build and enhance manual annotation interfaces for expert validation.
- Quantify key structural biomarkers (e.g., retinal layer thickness, fluid volumes) and enable longitudinal disease monitoring.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate imaging workflows into ReactJS-based Imaging platform.
- Perform unit, integration, and validation testing aligned to medical device compliance standards (HIPAA/FDA context).
- Participate in system architecture design, API definition, and database modelling for imaging data.
- Maintain high standards of security, traceability, and performance in cloud-native environments (AWS preferred).
- Provide UAT support, respond to clinical feedback loops, and drive iterative enhancements post-MVP.
- Document technical design, workflows, and clinical validation findings meticulously.
- Mentor and review work of junior imaging engineers as required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of professional experience in medical imaging software development or computer vision.
- Strong expertise in Python and deep learning libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Hands-on experience with medical image processing.
- Deep understanding of segmentation algorithms (CNNs, U-Nets, attention-based models).
- Practical experience with image annotation tooling and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Experience integrating imaging pipelines into ReactJS-based web platform would be a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud deployment, REST APIs, and backend architecture for imaging applications.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, healthcare data security, and clinical trial workflows is a strong plus.
- Self-driven, proactive, and ownership focused.
- Analytical thinker with a bias for execution and problem-solving.
- Collaborative mindset across clinical, product, and engineering teams.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, impact-driven startup environment.
