Senior Software Engineer - Shopify Applications

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Software Engineer at LevelShift, you will:

• Develop Custom Shopify Apps: Design, develop, and maintain public or private Shopify applications using Shopify APIs and webhooks to extend platform functionality.
• Build Embedded App Experiences: Implement Shopify App Bridge, Polaris Design System, and ReactJS to create embedded, intuitive app experiences within the Shopify admin.
• Integrate Enterprise Systems: Connect Shopify with ERP, Oracle CPQ, payment gateways, or inventory systems using REST/GraphQL APIs for seamless data synchronization.
• Extend Shopify Capabilities: Leverage Shopify Functions, Checkout Extensions, Metafields, and Script Editor (or Functions) to implement advanced business logic and custom workflows.
• Customize Storefronts: Enhance and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/ReactJS to deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand requirements, provide technical consultation, and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions on time.

Your Skillset

We’re seeking a skilled and hands-on engineer with a strong background in Shopify app development and frontend technologies.

• 5+ years of experience in web application development, including Shopify app and theme customization.
• Shopify Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Shopify Admin, Online Store 2.0, Shopify CLI, Polaris UI Kit, and App Bridge.
• Frontend Development: Proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS, and Node.js for building dynamic, responsive UIs.
• Web Technologies: Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, Liquid templating, and API integration using REST and GraphQL.
• Shopify APIs: Experience with Shopify REST API, GraphQL Admin API, Storefront API, and webhooks.
• Deployment & Authentication: Familiar with app deployment on Vercel, Azure, AWS, or Shopify App Store, and OAuth 2.0 authentication for app installations.
• System Integration: Experience integrating Shopify with external systems like Oracle CPQ, ERP, or payment/inventory platforms using APIs.
