Job Description: DevOps Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for automating and streamlining operations and processes, building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations, and troubleshooting and resolving issues in development, test, and production environments. This role involves managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure, enhancing system scalability, and ensuring high availability and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure AWS using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration processes.
- Utilize Docker and Kubernetes to containerize and orchestrate applications, optimizing performance and scalability.
- Implement networking solutions to support efficient data flow and connectivity across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Set up monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Automate repetitive tasks and improve system efficiency through scripting (Bash/Shell, Python, ).
- Ensure security best practices are followed in infrastructure and deployment processes.
- Conduct performance testing and capacity planning to optimize system performance.
- Maintain documentation for systems and processes.
- Facilitate customer-hosted self-deployment options across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-4 years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in cloud automation tools such as Terraform.
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools and cloud platform like AWS.
- Experience in deploying the applications on Windows/Linux
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash/Shell, Python, etc.).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.
- Experience in GitOps, ArgoCD to manage continuous delivery.
- Experience with Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience in monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK and Dynatrace
- Knowledge of database technologies preferably SQL, MongoDB and DynamoDB
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Certifications in AWS.
- Certifications in CKA/CKAD is added advantage.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Understanding of networking and security principles.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
