About the Role

As the Senior Software Engineer for the Core Platform, you will own critical, cross-cutting platform services that enable every AppOmni product and team to move faster and safer. You will lead by designing, building, operating, and continuously improving systems that must be reliable, secure, and extensible for years.

This role blends deep technical execution, architectural leadership, and clear communication. You will be a force multiplier for other teams and a trusted technical voice for leadership.

What You’ll Do

• Take end-to-end ownership of core modules that power AppOmni’s platform — from design to production to long-term maintenance
• Design, implement, and evolve highly reliable and secure backend systems using Django, Python, Docker, and GCP
• Collaborate closely with multiple engineering teams to understand platform needs and enable them through scalable solutions
• Proactively identify architectural, reliability, and scalability risks — and act decisively to mitigate them
• Communicate clearly and confidently with engineering leadership, product, and peer teams
• Set technical direction and standards for the Core Platform
• Stay hands-on: writing code, reviewing designs, debugging production issues, and improving operational maturity

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years of industry experience as a hands-on software engineer
• You are someone who has been there before — you’ve built and lived with complex systems.
• Strong experience building and maintaining backend systems end-to-end over multiple years
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and Django
• Solid experience with Docker and deploying/operating services on GCP
• Deep understanding of system design, APIs, and service-oriented architectures
• Strong production mindset: observability, reliability, performance, and security
• Demonstrates extreme ownership — you see problems as yours to solve
• Highly effective communicator, both written and verbal
• Anticipates issues and takes initiative before they escalate
• Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information
• Passionate about mentoring engineers and helping them grow technically
• Able to balance short-term execution with long-term platform health
• Trusted partner to leadership and a steady technical anchor for the organization

• Expected to work from AppOmni provided office space currently at PRESTIGE TECH PARK, Bellandur, Bengaluru 560103 at least 3 days a week
• Ergonomic setup to reduce strain and injury, including an appropriate chair, desk, and computer setup
• Reliable and fast internet connection to support video conferencing, access to cloud-based systems, and efficient communication whenever connecting from home
• General Mobility: Ability to perform general office duties that might require bending, sitting, lifting (like moving or adjusting computer and office equipment), and other light physical activities
• Prolonged Periods of Sitting: Ability to sit for prolonged periods
• Electronic Device Use: Frequently required to utilize computer equipment, such as a laptop
• Communication: Requires ability to communicate effectively with others - i.e. co-workers, vendors, clients, etc. for work-related purposes. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions in English.
