Job Description:

We are growing our application support team and so we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer. Your role will sit within an Agile team supporting a variety of applications and a broad set of technologies and datasets. You will also help drive the modernization of migrating on-prem databases to AWS. We will need you to ensure adherence to best practice in building modern software architectures.

Expectations:

• Work in collaboration with team members to scope and design systems aligned with organizational goals of modernizing and streamlining data processes

• Assist in troubleshooting and support efforts for existing systems and applications

• Implementation and delivery ensuring coding, unit testing, system integration, defect resolution, and technical documentation adheres to our standards

• Address technical queries and elicit, prioritize, and negotiate changes to requirements and defects

• Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones (EST)

• We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant field

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with coding in languages including but not limited to C#/.NET and Python

• Solid understanding of software design principles, patterns, and best practices

• Experience writing and managing complex SQL queries and stored procedures

• Experience with developing applications using traditional RDBMS (SQL Server, Postgres)

• Knowledge of leveraging continuous delivery and approaches to continuous integration with Docker and AWS

• Strong organization and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

• Familiarity with agile development practices and version control systems Git

• Knowledge and hands-on experience with Access and VBA is a plus

• Communicate effectively across functions as required.

Collaboration:

• Work in collaboration with team members to perform scoping, estimation, and technology feasibility tasks for the intended solution.

• Manage dependencies among engineering activities and constantly monitor, assess, and control the technical execution.

• Address technical queries and elicit, prioritize, and negotiate changes to requirements and defects.

• Contribute to system and data issue identification and resolution within teams across the organization.

Quality:

• Promote a culture of code quality and continuous improvement.

• Drive the importance of data accuracy from internal and external sources.
