Senior Software Engineer, Big Data, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
• Experience in Kernel development and architecting and developing distributed systems design.
• Experience developing Spark, Hive, Iceberg, Hudi, Delta, or similar analytical engines.
• Experience with database internals and building distributed systems.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with monitoring and observability technologies.
• Experience with Open Telemetry, JMX and other monitoring solutions.
• Familiarity with open source data analytics tools such as Apache YARN, Spark, Hive, Flink, etc.

Responsibilities

• Enhance lake house technologies for performance, security and monitoring.
• Extend open source technologies to improve their debuggability, observability, and supportability.
• Build dataproc observability infrastructure and applications using the latest Google technologies for monitoring, logging and tracing.
• Build the monitoring infrastructure required for trusted partner clouds.
