About the Role:

It is a great opportunity to contribute by building a complex distributed system requiring a deep understanding of Kafka protocol that deals with data streams for storage and consumption. In this role, you will design, develop and maintain Kafka client components ensuring they are robust, scalable and performant. You will work with a team of experienced engineers to tackle complex technical challenges and contribute to our product evolution. The role requires passionate engineers for building high quality maintainable software and has orientation towards identifying opportunities to move the product to the next level.
A successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering impactful projects and a desire to make a significant contribution to the open-source community.

What You Will Do:

What You Will Bring:

• BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years of relevant cloud infrastructure/cloud networking experience
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development
• Experience building and operating large-scale systems in the Cloud
• Solid understanding of basic systems operations (disk, network, operating systems, etc)
• A self starter with the ability to work effectively in teams
• Proficiency in C/C++, Go,Py or other statically typed languages

What Gives You an Edge:

• In-depth familiarity with the C language and has solved complex problems in the areas of concurrency and multithreading.
• Having experience in developing applications using one or more languages such as GO, Py, Javascript etc is an added advantage.
• A strong background in distributed storage systems or databases
• Experience/knowledge with public clouds (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Interest in evangelism (giving talks at tech conferences, writing blog posts evangelizing Kafka)
• Experience working on databases or data storage.
