Senior Software Engineer (SSE)

Overview

At Seekho, lakhs of Indians rely on our platform every day to learn and grow. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and build the systems that power this experience at scale — ensuring high performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability.

You will take end-to-end ownership of critical backend systems, from architecture and design documentation to deployment, monitoring, and production excellence. Beyond writing code, you will influence technical direction within your pod, mentor engineers, and raise the engineering bar across the team.

You will partner closely with Product and Design to translate ambitious ideas into scalable, production-grade systems. If you enjoy solving complex distributed problems, leading releases, and building systems that scale to millions of users, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

• Design scalable and reliable backend architectures.
• Author technical design documents and lead architecture discussions.
• Own major features and releases end-to-end.
• Ensure production reliability through observability, monitoring, and incident handling.
• Lead code reviews and mentor engineers to elevate technical standards.
• Drive measurable improvements in system performance, scalability, and engineering practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align technical solutions with product goals.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on backend development experience.
• Strong fundamentals in system design and distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in backend technologies and frameworks.
• Experience with databases, data modeling, and cloud-native platforms.
• Proven ability to lead features or releases independently.
• Strong ownership mindset with accountability for production systems.
• Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical decisions.
