We are seeking a skilled IBM WebSphere Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our WebSphere Application Server environments. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance, and security of enterprise applications running on WebSphere infrastructure.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Install, configure, and upgrade IBM WebSphere Application Server and related middleware components.
Monitor system performance, identify issues, and apply patches or fixes to ensure system stability.
Deploy and manage enterprise applications across WebSphere environments.
Implement and maintain security policies, including SSL certificates, authentication, and firewall configurations.
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application integration and resolve middleware-related issues.
Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization of WebSphere servers.
Maintain technical documentation including system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Provide production support, participate in on-call rotations, and ensure disaster recovery readiness.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
3–8 years of experience in WebSphere Application Server administration or middleware support.
Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Strong understanding of Linux/Unix or Windows Server administration.
Experience with application deployment, server clustering, and load balancing in WebSphere environments.
Knowledge of networking concepts, security configurations, SSL certificates, and LDAP integration.
Experience with scripting or automation tools (Shell, Python, PowerShell) is preferred.
Relevant IBM WebSphere or Middleware certifications are a plus.
Must Have Skills
Strong experience administering IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS).
Hands-on experience in installation, configuration, and deployment of applications on WebSphere.
Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments.
Knowledge of clustering, load balancing, and high availability configurations.
Experience with Apache HTTP Server / IBM HTTP Server integration with WebSphere.
Understanding of SSL configuration, LDAP authentication, and security policies.
Proficiency in scripting languages (Shell/Bash, Python, or PowerShell) for automation.
Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and log analysis skills.
Good to Have Skills
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Git.
Experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, or Nagios.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation practices.
Experience working in large-scale enterprise production environments.
