Senior Technical Project Manager

Itron's Resiliency Solutions business helps make communities more adaptive and sustainable. Role & Responsibilities

Team Dynamics & Culture

• Cultivate a high-trust, safe environment where team members feel comfortable raising problems, fostering transparency and psychological safety.

• Facilitate effective team dynamics, leading discussions, driving decision-making, and proactively resolving conflicts.

Project Management & Delivery

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple complex, large-scale programs and projects, involving geographically diverse, cross-functional teams.

• Act as the primary process and delivery owner for multiple teams, effectively managing project flow and maintaining key stakeholder relationships.

• Manage coordinated projects across multiple teams, ensuring a synergistic workflow and alignment toward shared program goals.

• Leverage modern AI-powered project management tools to optimize predictive scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow automation.

• Automation-Driven Project Manager who inherently looks for ways to optimize workflows, eliminate manual redundancies, and leverage modern tooling to scale team efficiency.

Risk & Improvement

• Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks and obstacles in collaboration with business partners, utilizing data insights to safeguard program success.

• Relentlessly focus on continuous improvement, tracking project progress and performance to strengthen the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) effectiveness.

• Maintain transparent, regular communication with all stakeholders, including executive leadership and project managers, providing clear updates on progress, performance, and future improvements.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• 4+ years of experience in Program or Project Management, ideally within an Agile delivery environment.

• 2+ years of hands-on experience managing AI/ML projects, data science workflows, or successfully integrating AI automation tools into project management processes.

• Hands-on experience (3+ years) working cross-functionally with both technical (data scientists, engineers) and non-technical teams.

• Proven track record (3+ years) of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives, utilizing data, metrics, and AI insights for measurable results.

• In-depth knowledge of project management tools and methodologies, including familiarity with AI features in modern PM software.

• 3+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master within an Agile delivery environment.

• A strong foundation in the Agile Manifesto and its principles, with an understanding of how they adapt to the iterative nature of AI/ML development.

• Deep understanding and practical experience applying empirical process control.

• Familiarity with Workflow Optimization (Design, implement, and maintain automated workflows within project management tools) and key Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, cycle time).

• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and various Agile reporting tools, including AI-enhanced plugins and features.

• Demonstrable background in coaching and mentoring cross-functional teams to achieve high-performance status.

• Proven redundant Process-Elimination experience – experience auditing existing project management processes to identify bottlenecks and replace manual "busywork" with automated solutions is a plus.

• Proven ability to foster psychological safety and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

• Exceptional organizational, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

• Strong focus on stakeholder engagement and delivery execution.

• AI & Prompting: Familiarity and experience with leveraging AI tools (like Claude or Copilot) to accelerate documentation, meeting summaries, action-item extraction and project management techniques will be a value add.
